Full Description

A post-medieval shieling mound (site 18) was surveyed by West Coast Archaeological Services in March 2013 during a walkover survey in advance of a proposed woodland creation scheme. This feature was found next to survey area 3. The turf and stone oval shaped sheiling was located 10m northwest of the track. It measured 4m in diameter with walls 1m in width and 0.4m in height. There was an entrance 0.7m to the north. The shieling mound was in a very degraded condition at the time of surveying. <1>
