Full Description
A ruinous post-medieval crofthouse in Staffin, Skye. It appears on the 1st Edition OS Map and so dates at latest to 1878. It survives well enough to positively identify it as a crofthouse, and another ruin just to the north (MHG56611) may have been associated with it. The crofthouse had all entrances but one blocked up, suggesting it was possibly used as a holding pen or byre at a later stage of its history.
A photographic record was carried out by Jamie Kirkwood in Septemeber 2013 as part of a condition on a planning application to erect a new house in the vicinity of the ruins.<1>
