Full Description
A walkover survey was carried out by John Wombell, Anne Coombs and other members of the North of Scotland Archaeological Society (NOSAS) in April 2013 over 2.5 days of an area of Dirr Wood near Dorres. This investigation was carried out to try and put the then recently discovered late Bronze Age hoard at Dores into context with potential sites in the surrounding landscape. The remains of two structures, one was described as measuring 2.5mx2.5m internally with low walls c1m in width with a possible entrance to the north. The second was described as a small structure, roughly circular, rough stone walls with a entrance to the north [Feature number ARTF192 amd ARTF195]. These structures were of an unknown date. <1>
