Full Description

The site was visited and photographed by D Glass in June 2013. He described the site as:
"The remains of a Shieling Hut measuring 4m by 3m. The walls stand up to 0.5m and are covered by vegetation. Nearby at NC53952 53429 there are the stone walls of a small building roughly 2m by 2m in size. This has been built into the gully of a former burn channel and might be a store or dairy associated with the Shieling Hut. There are the heather-covered remains of a possible second Shieling Hut close to the store but these are not sufficiently distinct to identify with confidence." <1>
