Full Description

A stone built memorial cairn marking the battle of Mulroy above the village of Roy Bridge, Lochaber. The text on the cairns sign reads:

"THE BATTLE OF MULROY
4th of August 1688
-----------------------
On the hill opposite,
the MacDonells of Keppoch
defeated the Mackintoshs
in the last inter-clan
battle fought in Scotland."

The cairn stands approximately 1.5m-2m in height and consists of stones held together by concrete or lime mortar. <1>
