A Late Bronze Age socketed axe of 'rib' type, measuring 2 3/4 by 1 5/8 ins, from Eigg, (centred NM 4786) was donated to the NMAS in 1882 by Prof N MacPherson (Acc No: BN 50).
NMAS Catalogue 1892; J M Coles 1962.

(Socketed axe of Yorkshire type). Single find. Socketed axe, smooth, cast, but brittle now, green, untrimmed, haft ribs: length 68mm, mouth 27 x 27mm, cutting edge 40mm, weight 155 gms. NMAS BN 50.
