Full Description

The building was photographed as part of a character appraisal of Cawdor Conservation Area in 2015. <1>

This water fountain was once one of a pair supplying water to the village. The second was removed due to road widening. Of a bespoke design it is now the central feature within a maintained landscape garden that provides public information about the village.

Whilst not providing water, it has a water trough to the front, currently used as a flower bed, and has full working parts inside its wooden walled structure. This wooden panelling sits on top of a square stone curtain, above there is a four sided pyramid slate roof to finial.

This structure provides a highly visible and unique feature within the village. Due to this it has been presented to Historic Environment Scotland for potential listing.
