Full Description

WWII Military huts near Park Primary School, Invergordon, now long demolished.

The building was investigated in 2015 as part of the ARCH project 'Invergordon in World War I'. Aerial photos from 1945 and 1947 show 24 timber buildings to the east of Park Primary School in the playing fields. During WWII the navy and RAF had a presence in Invergordon. The huts built in the school field are remembered as being for the RAF. Some of the buildings are remembered as being in use by the school after the war. <1> <2>
