Full Description

A WWII inflammable store and pound at Invergordon dockyard.

The building was investigated in 2015 as part of the ARCH project 'Invergordon in World War I'. A wartime plan from WWII in private possession shows a rectangular building and fenced off area to the west of the East (Admiralty) pier. It is labelled N.S.O. Store and Pound. It also appears on aerial photos of 1945 and 1978. The current building on the site is of corrugated iron, and is of unknown date. <1>
