Full Description
A building on the High Street, Invergordon, used by the military during WWII. Its use is unknown.
The building was investigated in 2015 as part of the ARCH project 'Invergordon in World War I'. On WWI plans, there is a row of buildings here along High Street, between Munro Street and the current garage, although they are not listed as being used by the military. From west to east on a plan from WWII in private collection, the building on the west is listed as 'Ruin', the middle building is depicted shaded, as is this one, the larger one to the east. This may indicate military use, but they are outside the M.O.D. boundary. <1>
The building first appears on the OS 2nd Edition map dated to 1906, the two neighbouring buildings to the west appear on the 1st Edition.
