Full Description
The C20 gatehouse at the Royal Navy Port Fuel Depot, Invergordon.
The building was investigated in 2015 as part of the ARCH project 'Invergordon in World War I'. This building dates after WWII, perhaps the 1960s, and probably relates to post-war use of the Pump House. <1>
On OS mapping dating to 1981 it has a smaller footprint with only the northern half of the current building shown.
Plans dating to WWI and 1921 showing all properties and buildings belonging to or under the control of the Admiralty in Invergordon also show a small building at this location. Given its relative size it may be the northernmost part of the building with the whole of the rest of the building formed from subsequent extensions.
