Full Description

Remains of a WWII rifle range, near Carrbridge, reputedly used by a Home Guard battalion formed from Newfoundland foresters.

The site consists of a target pit and two sets of target mechanisms (out of pit). There are five firing positions of low, flat topped mounds located at 100, 200, 300, 400 & 500 yards from the target position. The firing positions are not very distinct, and are more obvious on the ground than they are from the photographs. <1>
