Full Description
The footings of a dry-stone wall were found during an evaluation by Highland Archaeology Services for a house plot during 2016. . Larger more angular stones formed the outer skins of the wall whilst smaller more rounded stones and soil formed the infill. It survived essentially one course deep, up to 40cm high. It was likely to be the eastern wall of an enclosure seen on the 1st edition map (DBA9). It was surrounded by sherds of glazed pottery and glass. It appeared that the wall had been constructed directly on top of compacted topsoil, although the cut was only visible as a subtle difference in the homogeneity of the soil and because of a lack of artefacts. <1>
