Full Description

Two clearance cairns at Knockfin.

Two clearance cairns at Knockfin (site 2) were recorded in 2004 during a walkover survey at Knockfin by Archaeological and Ancient Landscape Survey for the Forestry Commission Scotland. Lying on a natural terrace, within a felled clearing, at circa 250 meters OD and some 75 meters to the NW of Site 3 are two prominent mounds of stones. Both mounds are oval in shape, stand 1 meter high and measure 7.5 meters by 4 meters overall. Probably two field clearance cairns. <1>
