Full Description

NG35SW 31 3444 5500

The circular structure published at NG 3441 5498 on OS 6-inch map, 1969 is a shieling-hut. To the N are ruinous buildings.
Visited by OS (RL) 6 October 1971.

There is a cluster of probable and possible huts set on a low rise at the foot of a crag about 300m W of the shore of Loch Greshornish and 700m NNE of Greshornish Farm. There is also a pen to the ESE and an enclosure at the foot of the crag to the N. The whole site was shrouded in bracken at the date of visit and the relationships of the different parts of structures that were visible and the field-banks that enclose the ground below the crag were totally obscured.
(WAT90 1385-6)
Visited by RCAHMS (SH) 25 September 1990.
