Full Description

NG25NE 16.22 2637 5628.

This two-storeyed rectangular building, which is shown as roofed on the 1st edition of the Ordnance Survey map of 1880 (Island of Skye &c., Inverness-shire, 1880, sheet xv), is situated on the foreshore 100m to the S of Stein. It measures 9.5m from ENE to WSW by 4.8m transversely within rubble walls 0.6m in thickness and 4m in height. The ground floor is entered from a central door in the N side, which is a replacement for an earlier one, and the upper floor is entered from the S; there are two windows in the N face and a blocked one in the W gable. Both gables have fireplaces; there is a scarcement on the E gable, and joist-holes indicate an extension to the E, since removed.
