Geanies Castle (Site) (NAT) OS 6" map, Ross-shire, 2nd ed (1907)

No visible remains of castle of Barony of Geanies exist, but a tree still standing is said to have been within its precincts (ONB 1872).
Geanies Castle, when investigated by Davidson, was found to be quite unknown locally and site indicated by OS was under wheat and no trace whatever was distinguishable (Davidson 1948).

No trace of castle or tree in an arable field.
Visited by OS (I S S) 5 September 1972.

The traditional site of Geanies Castle is recorded about 450m E of Mains of Geanies farmhouse; no visible remains survive.
