Full Description

Supposed Site of Battle (NR) OS 6" map, Caith, 2nd ed. (1871)

A battle is supposed to have been fought on Bloody Moss.
Name Book 1872.

Name centred on a peat bog - an unlikely site for a battle. The tradition is probably due to the numerous burial cairns to the S.
Visited by OS (I S S) 14 March 1972.
