Full Description

Rossy Hillock stands fairly prominently within an arable field. Although its margins are very poorly defined, it measures approximately 34.5m N-S by 30m and stands 1.3m high. It is more likely to be a burial cairn than a broch.
Surveyed at 1:2500. Visited by OS (J B) 7 December 1981.

Rossy Hillock (NR) (site of) OS 6" map, (1970)

Rossy Hillock: As described above; classification and survey action are impracticable. The name is still known locally.
Revised at 1:2500. Visited by OS (N K B) 16 February 1965.

The mound called 'Rossy Hillock' probably covers ruins of a broch, but it has been so long under cultivation that its dimensions are now quite indefinite.
RCAHMS 1911.
