(Approx NH 930 598) The fishing village of Mavistoun, which existed until about 1800, is shown on Pont's map.

There is no local knowledge of the exact site of Mavistoun.
Visited by OS (RL) 11 December 1970
No traces remain of this deserted village. The location suggested above lies on the salt marsh; it is possible that the site lies further inland under the present forest.
