Full Description

NC00SW 1 0120 0172.

(Area centred NC 0120 0172) There is a cairn at Carnasgeir. (The island is Carn nan Sgeir (NAT) on OS 6"map 1881, and Canaskar on Roy's Map of 1747.)
W J Watson 1904; W Roy 1747.

There is no evidence of a cairn on these islands. It is almost certain that in this case the term "Carn" has been used to mean a rocky place or feature.
Visited by OS (E G) 28 May 1962.
