Full Description

NH95NW 32 9463 5787 and 9477 5763

Two mounds were examined in advance of possible construction works and were found to be probably of natural deposits.
That at NH 9463 5787 is 'a large natural mound some 100-110m long and 50m maximum breadth which had already been planted with trees. The only effect of the development was to be a septic tenk settlement pit on the extreme edge of the mound at the mid-point of its long SW side. This was not thought to pose any archaeological threat, and no archaeological deposits were disturbed by the test pit.'
The second mound at NH 9477 5763 is a ' probably natural sub-circular mound locally (perhaps) beleived to be a burial mound.'
Information from Mr R Gourlay, (Highland Regional Council), 15 July 1991
