Full Description

A cluster of pits have been recorded as cropmarks on oblique aerial photography (RCAHMSAP 1989) lying on level ground about 240m NW of Newton of Cawdor. Some of the pits may resolve themselves into a small oval enclosure, measuring about 30m NNE-SSE by about 20m. However it is difficult to be certain within the general scatter of pits, some of which may measure as much as 3-4m in diameter. The pits lie within cropmarks associated with former courses of the River Nairn, which extend to the E.
