The Allt Coir Osgaig drains into the SE end of Loch Osgaig through a sheltered valley within which there are the remains of at least forty-one shieling-huts, three burnt mounds and a system of field banks which, for the most part lie between extensive stands of scrub birch (at least two huts and a bank were visible within the woodland but were not surveyed).
Two huts and the outline of an area which is annotated 'a shealing' are shown on May's survey of 1758 (SRO, RHP 85395), and two roofless structures is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Cromartyshire 1881, sheet iii).
