Full Description

NC20NE 4 2893 0935.

NC 2893 0935. A large mound, 10 m in diameter, of sporadic stone construction.
J M Howell, Loubcroy and Ledmore Survey, 1976

A further four stone mounds were found at NC 2898 0935, NC 2904 0935, NC 2904 0933 and NC 2898 0932 all measuring 2m in diameter and 1m high.
J M Howell, Loubcroy and Ledmore Survey, 1976 nos.4-7

This mound has been ploughed through prior to afforestation. There is no evidence in the plough furrows to suggest that it is man-made. It is more likely that it is a moraine.
Visited by OS (N K B) 18 June 1980.

The four mounds have been mutilated by deep ploughing; only a scatter of lose stone remains.
Visited by OS (NKB) 18 June 1980
