Full Description

NH77NW 17 728 784.
A group of three probably prehistoric enclosures lie just to the south of the new forest road, in unploughed land. Located by reporter. Enclosure 'A' (NH 7281 7846) 'Scooped' circular enclosure partly destroyed by the new forest road. Much obscured by heather, it measures 16m in diameter within a strong bank up to 3m wide and 1.1m high. It co-joins and probably overlies, - Enclosure 'B' (NH 7284 7846) - A 'scooped' and stone walled oval enclosure. deep heather and bracken obscure details, but it measures approximately 16.5m NE-SW by 12.5m within a wall of up to two courses of outer facing stones on the SE downhill side. Large inner facing boulders of up to 0.6m high visible on the upper NW side.
Enclosure 'C' (NH 7280 7841) is not levelled into the hillside, approximately 14m in diameter, within a stone wall much obscured by deep heathers, its condition and proximity to enclosures 'C' and 'D' suggest that it may be contemporary. No trace of associated field systems was seen.
