Full Description

NH19SW 11 1254 9436

A rough block of sandstone bearing a 'Pictish Symbol' of the 'mirror case' type on one face and a curved incision on the reverse was found in the garden of 2, Castle Terrace, Ullapool. The mirror symbol is an exact copy of that on the stone from the Brough of Birsay, Orkney (HY22NW 1) and the stone is considered to be a recent copy of no great age and is therefore not of Pictish origin.
Information from N Crank, Highland Regional Council.
