Along the banks of Allt Loch Meall nam Feadan at 150ft O.D. there are the remains of nineteen oval and circular shielings. Fifteen of these, which fall in a flat pasture area beside several clearance heaps, have been reduced by cultivation to grass covered mounds 0.3 m high; the area being enclosed by a field wall 0.7 m high. The remaining four composed of small stones are better preserved and survive to a height of 0.8 m. Visited by OS (R D) 28 April 1965.

This area has been noted in NMRS as a shieling site but no detail recorded. A field c. 1 acre is located next to the burn and is surrounded by a wall. Within this field of improved pasture are six large clearance heaps, over 2m diameter. However, outwith this are areas of broad cultivation terraces, largely invaded by heather. Two bothies are built on to the southern wall of the field, c 2.5m by 1.5m internally.

Twelve shieling huts, marked as dots, are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1972). One unroofed shieling-hut and a length of field wall are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire 1880, sheet cxvi).
