Full Description
NH19SW 8 138 914.
There are a collection of clearance cairns W of the Dun. There is a distinct oval heap along top of beach line E of the W village of Loggie at c213758891532. There is another clearance heap of smaller stones in the village itself at c213742891423 (possibly derived from the demolition of buildings and removal of the large stones for rebuild?). There are also a series of dispersed mounds visible from the Dun in the field S of the west village at c213920891340. Mr Bastow (local researcher) suggests that the village was cleared in EC19 for the establishment of one farm. At least some of the mounds are likely to post date this.
