Full Description
A large, Neolithic, polished stone axe of Cumbrian type, 11.6" long, was found c1860 near Blar na Ceann (Blar nan Ceann: NH 476 577) Strathpeffer, and was donated to the NMAS by Alex Walker, FSA Scot, in 1948-9 (Acc No: AF 898).
Probably originating in Lake District, it is thought to have reached this area by trade.
