Full Description

NH28SW 2 2014 8164.

At NH 2014 8164 is a circular stone-walled hut on a SW slope, and previously described by Loader (Visited by OS (R L) 18 April 1963) as an enclosure. It measures c11.5m diameter between the centres of a wall spread to c.2.5m in width where it is built up in the SW, and c.1.8m elsewhere.
Occasional outer facing stones are visible but insufficient for a true overall measurement. The simple entrance, c1.3m wide, is in NW. Within hut are the footings of a shieling.
About six stone clearance heaps to the SW of the hut probably indicate contemporary cultivation plots.
Visited by OS (A A) 24 September 1970
