Garbhraon (NAT) OS 6"map, Ross-shire, 2nd ed., (1905)

'Garbhraon' is name applied to 'some ruins situate on the south side of Allt a' Gharbh Room, about half a mile west of Loch a'Gharbh Roon..'

A depopulated area consisting of 5 buildings and at least two, small, associated enclosures. The buildings vary from mere footings (9m by 4m) to a substantial structure 18.6 x 5m, the stone walls of which still stand to a maximum height of 1.9m. The enclosures are bounded by stony banks 0.4m maximum height. On west side of area and close to boundary of arable land are slight remains of an oval-shaped shieling, nearby are the amorphous remains of two others.
Visited by OS (E G C) 17 April 1963

Depopulation site consisting of five buildings and at least two small associated enclosures. The buildings vary from footings (9m x 4m) to a substantial structure (18.6m x 5m) which has stone walls to a height of 1.9m. The enclosures are bounded by stony banks. To the west are the remains of an oval-shaped shieling and the amorphous remains of two others.
