Full Description
This number is used for clearance cairns to the N of the Dun. Three large mounds lie in a row that probably represent an old field line. The S point is similar to the GR above given by RCAHMS, the most northerly is at c214375891496. All are large, from the Dun the most southerly appears as an oval ring the other two are oval. There is another old field line to the W that is a turf covered stone wall. It is suggested by Mr Bastow that this area was cleared and established as a separate farm in the EC19. See photos - HAW 12/2002
Close-Brook, 1986, Exploring Scots Heritage: rays that "abandoned crofthouses can be seen S of the hill & cultivation ridges & clearance cairns W of it" - poss that has wrong alignments (HAW).
