Full Description

There was a tower on Isle Maree, built by a Norse prince to the west of the enclosure containing the hermit's cell (NG97SW 1).
All that remains of the tower is a 'considerable mound'.
J H Dixon 1886.

At NG 93057234 is the only mound in the area described by Dixon (J H Dixon 1886). Approx. 4.0m. high and composed for the most part of rock it shows no evidence of antiquity.
