Full Description

Cairn, Lechanich: This heather-covered cairn stands on a slight shelf 170m NNW of the chambered cairn described on NH68NE 8. It measures 6.7m in diameter and stands 1m high.
RCAHMS 1979, visited 1978.

This alleged burial cairn at NH 6824 8602 is as described above. It is heather-covered, and situated on a false crest on the margins of an area of field clearance. The mound is larger than any of the clearance heaps, but it lacks any of the structural features which would enable certain classification as a cairn, and is therefore most likely also to be the result of clearance.
Surveyed at 1:10,000. Visited by OS (J B) 16 February 1980.
