NH66NE 8 c. 69 65.
'A Pit or Dungeon under the Bridge of Newhall' was used as a prison in the 17th - 18th centuries.
W M Mackenzie 1922.
Not located. Major Shaw has never heard of a dungeon in the area of the Mains of Newhall, and says that the 'Bridge of Newhall' is certainly later than the 18th century. No further information could be obtained locally concerning this site.
