This is a spring well whose waters it is said 'were very frequently partaken of by Bishops residing at the village of Fortrose'.
Name Book 1871.

Bishop's Well is a natural spring emptying into a square basin cut into the turf as part of a modern water system. The name is known locally as "Bishop's Well".
Visited by OS (N K B) 21 March 1966.
