Full Description
Timber foundations for a building fronting the High Street were found with midden containing bottle glass, when monitoring work for the Inverness-Dingwall gas pipeline.
J Wordsworth, 1992. <1>
On the High Street on the site of properties destroyed to construct a Ring Road, substantial timber foundations were
uncovered. These timbers were presumably laid for stability on the damp clay and do not necessarily mean that the original building here was also of timber. Indeed the stones would suggest otherwise. The finds of bottle glass suggest a construction perhaps in the 18th C, though the bottle glass was probably not diagnostic. <2>
