Full Description
NH57NE 18 5813 7601
This farmstead is situated on rocky terrace c200m SE of Dalmore. It comprises two rectangular buildings, a kiln-barn and fragments of an enclosure. The better preserved building which is of two compartments, is reduced to little more than its foundation course and measures 15.8m from E to W by 5.3m overall. There are traces of an internal passage on its N side. The other building is severely robbed and measures 21m from N to S by 4.5m overall. N end has been heavily robbed but it appears that building was sub-divided. The kiln-barn, which is situated about 20m SE, is also extensively robbed, but still stands up to 1m high. A boulder stone wall connects kiln and the long building. Another such wall runs off from SE end of kiln-chamber into ground overgrown with gorse. Further such walls in the rocky ground to E may form an enclosure. Fragments of enclosure walls are also visible in the thick gorse cover around the farmstead.

An unroofed building is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire and Cromartyshire 1880, sheet lii), but it is not shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1986).
