Full Description

50m to SE of fort (NH87SW 6) is a natural hillock, lower than fort, on which are 'easily seen' artitificial depressions; two are less pronounced than on fort (where one was 0.5m deep) and third is vestigial. A rough inspection revealed no signs of earthworks nor other artificial alteration.
Info from J Howdle to OS 29 August 1961;
Visible on RAF APs CPE/Scot/UK/223: 4149-50: 27 June 1947.

This hillock was overgrown with bracken at time of visit, but the depressions appear to be small quarries and not antiquities. According to Mr Budge (Mr D Budge, Easter Rarichie) hut circles occur on similar hillocks at NH 8425 7408 and NH 8471 7378 but these are also overgrown and nothing could be found.
Visited by OS (A A) 18 September 1972.
