Full Description

A well dedicated to St Colman (Tobar-mo-Colmac) is situated near the Library in Portmahomack village (Watson 1904) and 100 yards from site of chapel (NH98SW 6). St Colman's Well is said to have been in continuous use for some hundreds of years up to present day (Davidson 1948).

Mr Duff (A Duff, Chapel Street, Portmahomack) recalls that the well at NH 9163 8445 was referred to as Colman's Well many years ago, but the name is not now generally used.
