OS 6"map, Ross-shire, 2nd ed., (1907)

Balnacrae: This Orkney-Cromarty type cairn has been almost entirely removed, but an edge, which suggests a diameter of at least 75', can be traced. The chamber has been very large, and many of the stones remain, ranging in height from 2'4" to 6' 6". It was entered by a passage at its NE end. A S Henshall 1963.

The remains of a chambered cairn generally as described above but a larger diameter of 28.5m was traced.
