Full Description

NH55NW 1 5429 5507.
Earthwork (NR) OS 6"map, Ross-shire, 2nd ed., (1907)

Woodham calls this a henge monument consisting of a flat circular area 48' diam, surrounded by ditch 9' wide, with entrance causeway in SE, 5' wide. A bank 12' wide surrounds ditch but has no entrance to correspond with causeway; bank is 80' - 85' in overall diam.
Feachem states that, at first sight, this seems to be a Class I henge, 75' diam measured from crest of bank, but only excavation can determine whether bank was origianally fully annular; if it were so then, at best, structure could be called a protohenge or hengiform earthwork. Whether henge or not, it is extremely likely to be of about 2nd or 3rd millenium BC date.
