3 natural mounds in cultivated ground, accentuated by being ploughed round the base and with field clearance stones dumped upon them. Visited by OS (J M) 19 May 1981.
3 natural mounds, identified by previous authorities with a battle in 1517, are situated in an improved field and have been accentuated by ploughing around the base and supplemented by clearance. The two N mounds (NC 7080 0364, NC 7093 0364) are glacial in origin, while S mound (NC 7089 0359) is a spur on the leading edge of the terrace above the haughland.
