Full Description
Centred at NC 736 554, on a south west facing hill slope, are two peat and heather covered hut circles ('A' and 'B') and an associated field system.
'A' set on a small rise is 9.5m south east-north west by 7.0m within a low wall spread to 2.0m generally, widening to 2.5m at the entrance in the south east. Within the hut is a probably later structure, indicated by less peat accumulation on the wall. It is 5.0m in diameter within a low wall spread to 1.5m. It has a common entrance with the hut.
'B' a simple hut, is 9.5m in diameter within a low wall spread to 2.5m. The entrance is in the south east.
To the south west of hut 'A' on the line of a stony lynchet are the remains of a sub rectangular, bipartite structure of bare stone, each compartment measures 2.0m across. Its date and purpose are unknown.
The field system of about 7hectares is defined largely by clearance heaps, lengths of wasted walls, linear clearance and occasional lunchets. A few plots are visible; one measures 20.0m by 10.0m.
Surveyed at 1:10000.
Visited by OS (J B) 22 August 1977.
