Full Description

NC25SW 17 229 506.

NC 229 507. A dwelling and enclosure on a crag overlooking the loch, 250yds SW of Skerricha. The dwelling is 60ft by 15ft with the lower of its three rooms on a slight slope. To the N is a circular structure with an internal diameter of 30ft and walls 3ft high and at least 5ft thick in places. Below the crag is a ruinous rubble enclosure 18ft in diameter with walls about 3ft high.

NC 229 506. Farmstead abandoned 18th/19th century; remains include two building footings, 17m by 4m and 9m by 5m, enclosure and stretch of head dyke or bank. Lazy-bed cultivation in evidence.
Visited by OS (JM) 8 June 1980.

A farmstead comprising an unroofed building and an enclosure is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1878, sheet xxiv). The farmstead is not shown on the current edition OS 1:10,560 map (1962).
