Full Description
NC91NE 64 9954 1799.
At NC 9954 1799, levelled into the slope, in a steep, NE inclined hillside, is an oval stone-walled hut circle with annexe. There is no evidence of associated cultivation; the steepnes of the slope in the vicinity of the huts would preclude it.
The hut remains as a scarp in the S arc, formed by the cut into the slope, complimented by overgrown residual walling elsewhere; it is about 13.0m E-W by 10.0m overall and has an entrance, from the E. The annexe is on the N side of the hut, and the wall is well-defined as it curves round from the W arc of the hut to about 6.5m NE of the entrance; here it interrupts, without doubt, an entrance, before continuing, to close on the S side of the hut entrance. The interior of the annexe has not been levelled.
Surveyed at 1:10,560.
Visited by OS (J M) 7 July 1976.
