Full Description

At NC 9707 1810 and NC 9722 1809 are two stone-walled hut circles (A and B) set into the north-facing hill-slope. They measure respectively 9m E-W by 7.5m N-S, and 10m E-W by 8.5m N-S within walls now reduced and overgrown with heather. The entrances, apparently of simple form, are in the east arc. On the north, downslope side of hut A is an outer revetment of boulders.
Associated cultivation is limited to sporadic rickles and heaps of stone clearance, and, rarely, wasted field walls; later post-medieval field walls intrude. One cultivation plot about 30.0m by 15.0m is visible to the east of hut B. Footings of a vaguely rectangular structure lie about 140.0m west of the same hut and again, 50.0m to the south, is a turf-covered mound, about 8.0m in diameter and 0.9m high, with a depression 3.5m wide and 0.6m deep in the top; this latter is possibly a dug-out clearance heap.
Surveyed at 1:10,560.
Visited by OS (J M) 30 November 1976.
