Description
A walkover survey was carried out by Headland Archaeology in 2001 in advance of tree felling and thinnning in Broadshaw Wood and Crachies Wood near Nairn. The survey was intended to identify, record and protect both new and known sites. Trees within a 20m radius of sites wre marked with spray paint. Trees so marked would be felled in such a way as to avoid damage to the site and heavy plant would not enter these areas during felling. One known site in Broadshaw Wood was successfully located and a new site, the rubble remains of a possible farmstead wasa also found.
