Full Description

NC12NE3 16 25.

An island, thought by MacIntyre (Rev Angus MacIntyre) to be artificial, lies at W end of Loch Assynt (NC 1625).
F O Blundell 1913. <1>

No trace and no local knowledge of an artificial island in the W part of Loch Assynt (unless MacIntyre is referring to NC12NE 1).
Visited by OS (A A) 2 September 1974.

Visited by the Assynt's Hidden Lives project in November 2009. An oval-shaped, grass covered mound, aligned E-W protrudes less than 1m out of Loch Assynt. At the time of survey it was well submerged in the loch as the water level was high although there were obvious small birches growing upon it visible above the water. No features were visible from the shore. <2>
